HIGHLIGHTS

  • The University Grant Commission (UGC) after facing the numerous number of complaints from students from institutions, has decided to revamp its regulations with improvements.
  • As per the UGC ( Grievance Redressal) Regulations 2012, “ all higher institutions are required to appoint an ombudsman for redressing the grievances of students”.
  • The regulation of 2012 stipulates the Ombudsman shall be “ a person who has been a judge not below the rank of a district judge or retired professor who has at least 10 years experience as professor.
