P.V.Sindhu, world No. 3 player, won Silver in finals of women’s singles Badminton World Championship. She defeated Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi in the semifinals and managed to reach in the finals. In the finals, she was playing against Carolina Marin. Carolina Marin of Spain won the title of women singles Badminton World championship. She is champion of Olympic. She is the first women to win the World championship trice, once in 2014 and another in 2015 Jakarta edition. The Olympic silver medalist, P.V.Sindhu, once again finished at second spot by 19-21, 10-21. Last year she finished second against Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara at Glasgow.

She is the only Indian to have four World championships podium finishes. She has two silvers and had already won two bronze medals at the 2013 Guangzhou and 2014 Copenhagen editions. Caroline Marine had also defeated Sindhu once in 2016 at Rio Olympics.
