J.P. Dutta’s “Paltan”, which is set to hit the screens soon, is out with its official trailer. The trailer shows that the movie is about the 1967 clashes between India and China at Nathu La. The trailer takes off on an energetic and patriotic note with zealous expressions and dialogue delivery by various actors including Harshvardhan Rane, Jackie Shroff, Arjun Rampal and Sonu Sood. The movie will be the Bollywood debut of well-known Hindi daily soap actress Dipika Kakkar. Then flashes of India’s defeat in the Indo-China war, 1962 come in. However, as the trailer proceeds, it gets a bit overboard and monotonous. It is full of clips of action scenes and scenes of the war field with little about as to what went beyond it, the political angle, the emotional impact, etc. Unlike movie like “Border”, Paltan’s trailer fails to give the sparking vibes and connect to the audience. The background score is way too loud for any of the dialogues to be heard properly and the setting is predominantly dull and dusty. However, the punchline at the end of the trailer acts as an uplifting agent. The individual performance of the actors will be a treat for the eyes. Overall, the trailer gives the hint that there is a lot the movie has in store. Paltan releases in India on September 7, 2018.
