Ude Desh Ke Aam Nagrik or UDAN, also known as Regional Connectivity Scheme is for a tenure of three years and all the concessions would be extended to operators for the tenure period and prior to which the airliners have to survive and sustain by themselves. This was stated by G.K Chaukiyal, Executive Director, RCS, Airports Authority of India. He responded to the observations of R. Shrikrishna and Hemam Reddy, AVP of Indigo Airlines and Regional Manager of Spice Jet respectively and said he was optimistic that most routes under UDAN would have to sustain themselves or else if they’re incapable the funding won't stop. He stated that there AAI is plans of constructing 260 parking bays all across the airports in the country and the MoU’s are already agreed with the state governments regarding providing transport facilities from the airport to the respective city or town increasing the connectivity.
