The time of the year has arrived where everybody brings their best of them to form one of the most creative Ganeshas ever. However, the plastic of Paris used in these Ganesh idols generally does not dissolve in water after being immersed. .To give these environmental friendly Ganesh idols a little color, the Home Science College in Hyderabad had tried all its efforts to come out with natural colors that are as good as the synthetic ones and these give the Ganesh idols life.
These natural colors are obtained through many natural alternatives like boiling saps, flowers, shoots, seeds and stems of various plants. The home science college collaborated with a group of scientists are working on increasing the shine in the colors. They are working on the sap of a tree called Thumma Jiguru which gives any natural color it’s shine.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is doing its bit to make people aware of these eco-friendly Ganeshas. The GHMC developed small nimajjan pools that will help facilitate the immersion process of these idols and this will cut down the damage done to the water bodies. The festival will be celebrated across India in a grand manner starting from this Thursday.
