The government’s schools near the holy town, Kedarnath, Uttrakhand is being implanted with the soundproof windows and doors in order to avoid the infuriating noises of the helicopters, daily. The said trouble has been caused by the helicopters taking pilgrims to visit the Kedarnath, one of the Char Dham. Till now nine governments schools have been made sound-proof with implantation of the noise-resistant systems. The old wooden doors and windows of all these schools have been replaced by the sound-proof glasses. The shrine Kedarnath is visited by a large number of devotees every day on the Char Dham Yatra for 6 months.
The noise caused by the helicopters and the helicopter traffic was a major problem for the children especially those whose schools are located near the helipads. This disturbance was hampering in the studies of the students of the school situated near the Kedarnath. It is targeted to implant the noise barrier system in all the schools near Kedarnath.
The Government Schools have complained about the overwhelming noise caused by choppers. It is reported that every day helicopters travel around 60 trips on that route. And the teacher complains that the students could not focus on the lesson and doesn’t listen to them properly. The schools have complained the district administration for the same. The district administration had negotiated with the helicopter companies and thus it was concluded that the schools should be made sound-proof. The chopper companies have agreed to fund 18 soundproof rooms for the 9 most affected schools belonging to that area.
