When Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of India, his first work of scheme was clean India to end open defecation in the country. Recently, the United Nations have awarded The Prime Minister with Champions of Earth award by Secretary General Antonio Guteress. Apart from, Modi had to share the award with France’s President Emanuel Macron for their work in establishing International Solar Alliance and new areas of cooperation on environmental action. While addressing, he said that climate and calamity are linked with culture, and it is difficult to conquer calamity as long as climate doesn’t become a part of a culture. He pledged to get rid of plastic in the country by 2020 and bestowed his award to the people livelihood in the forest as tribal, fisherman who captures fish for his daily living and farmers whose life is intertwined with different seasons. Mr.Modi said he has spoken for climate justice in the Paris agreement, which was signed in 2016 which aim, was to deal with climate change.
