Senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan taking a dig at PM Narendra Modi and U.P. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has proposed that a 151-meter-tall Lord Ram’s Statute in Ayodhya should taller than ‘Statute of Unity’ which is 182-meter-tall dedicated to ‘Iron Man’ Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel unveiled by the PM on Sadhu-Bet Island in Gujrat’s Narmada district on October 31.

The statement by senior leader came after the announcement made by the U.P.  Government regarding construction of a 151-meter-tall statue of Lord Ram in Ayodhya which is likely to be built near the Sarayu river. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will formally lay the foundation stone of the dream Project on the eve of Diwali on 6 November.

While talking to reporter in his hometown Rampur SP leader stated “Why did this thought not come at the time of constructing the statue of Sardar Patel? Why would anybody oppose (the construction of Lord Ram’s statue)? I would want an even taller statue of Lord Ram in Rampur”

Several Hindu organisations and activists have reportedly pressing for the construction of a statue. However, several other religious leaders in Ayodhya are divided on the issue, this section says, “it will be disrespectful to Lord Ram as bird droppings will defile the statue”.

Moreover Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said “it is natural that all of us will be happy if the Ram temple is constructed”.
