On the one hand where the whole Delhi was busy in preparations of Diwali and on the other hand, an unpleasant incident happened in Mandangir area, South Delhi. The night between 5th November, 2018 and 6th November, 2018 witnesses the whole incident. A CCTV footage of this whole incident went viral in various social media platforms. According to the CCTV footage, an intoxicated man at first opened a fuel pipe of a motorcycle due to which the petrol drenched from six other tanks of motorcycles and he sets fire on total 14 motorcycles and on four cars with a match stick. Nearby parked cars also caught fire. As soon as police came to know about the incident, they rushed to the spot at about 3.05 AM.

The Police is still unable to trace the accused person as he fled away. The case was registered against the accused person under Sections 435 (Mischief by Fire or Explosive Substance with intent to cause damage) and 427 (Mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees or upwards.) of the Indian Penal Code. It has been known among the burnt vehicles, eight two-wheelers and two cars were completely destroyed, while six motorcycles and two cars were burnt partially. Now, this incident raises questions on the security of citizen’s personal property.
