  • Emmanuel Salamat, of the office of civil defense, confirmed the deaths in Cordillera, who said that the police had reported at least 20 dead there.

As per the presidential adviser on Sunday, nearly 25 people were killed in the Philippines in a path of devastation left by Typhoon Mangkhut, mainly in landslides of mountainous regions.

Twenty deaths were reported in the Cordillera region on the main island of Luzon and four in nearby Nueva Vizcaya province were caused by landslides. Francis Tolentino said by telephone that another death resulted from a tree fall in the province of Ilocos Sur.

The tally reflected the condition at 9 a.m, said Tolentino who is the main disaster response coordinator and an adviser to President Rodrigo Duterte, also added the typhoon is still flowing in, by the reports of other areas of northern Luzon.

Emmanuel Salamat, of the office of civil defense, confirmed the deaths in Cordillera, who said that the police had reported at least 20 dead there.
