The most marginalized persons of the society whose existence is confined in the four walls who perish at about 1584 per year according to the 2015 reports of National Crime Bureau. Prison population consists of an over-representation of members who carry a much greater burden of illness than other members of the society. They not only dwell with the day to day hardships as well as the mental trauma of confinement. The reason for confinement may be what so ever be it Rehabilitation or Imprisonment, dwell with them an uncountable number of diseases which are inherited and pass on for they have no basic cure. Health Condition in Prison is the most neglected one to that of any other section of society. Health conditions are ignored, they incur to deal with it and later perish. Prisons can be a breeding ground for HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB) and other infectious diseases. The incidence of TB, which thrives in cramped, overcrowded conditions. Would be the best breeding ground for most cramped jails like Tihar Jail New-Delhi Coupled together with abysmal living conditions and poor quality of medical services, health in prisons is a matter of immense human rights concern. However, the concept and the subsequent need to view prison health as an essential part of public health is poorly recognized in India. Organizations like Human Right Watch and World health Organizations continue working for such, special cell blocks for inmates with infectious diseases, regular health checkups and the better standard of living can add to an extra year to their prison lives.
