The Communist Party led Left Democratic Front’s (LDF) decision to rally a one million people across Kerala to carry forward a new renaissance movement to keep up the law and order has been criticized by the opposition as a public stunt. The decision of the CM, to rally women in a human wall was to fight against gender inequality.

The opposition i.e, the Congress and the BJP have alleged the government to be using a tactical move to implement the SC order of entry of women into the Sabarimala temple. The BJP spokesman, Mr Padmaukumar also alleged that the government has misguided the community organisations with its hidden agenda that the latter would promise to implement the SC Sabarimala order.

NSS General Secretary however said that the government on the pretext of failure to implement the SC order has started this movement which is fomenting caste divide. He also said that ban on entry of women into the temple is based on the faith of religion and not any renaissance movement. The congress however has alleged that the women wall is created by the government as a deliberate move to gain political mileage from the Sabarimala issue. With all the opposition, it is to be found out whether the women wall will indeed mark its steps in the history of renaissance.
