Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and Jharkhand State Government have recently joined hands for the promotion of organic cultivation such as honey, wheat, rice and vegetables grown in the State, through Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurveda. To make sure this comes into effect, the two have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), said Jharkhand CM, Raghubar Das at the Global Agriculture and Food Summit on Friday.
The CM said that the aim was to build organic production clusters across the 24 districts of the state and that the products would be sold under the name ‘Jharkhand Jaivik’, recognising the brand. The CM also stated that another MOU will be signed with Patanjali to institutionalise a honey manufacturing plant in the state.
Ramdev who was also present at the summit said that they will buy products grown from organic farming and would work with the State government, which has the potential of becoming a leading state in agriculture, towards the prosperity of the farmers. Patanjali sells ayurvedic and natural products such as cosmetics, bio-fertilizers etc through thousands of its retail outlets across the country. Patanjali made about 12,000 crore revenue in the last fiscal.
