The expenditure made on school books, uniforms and transport of disabled children all across the country, will now be reimbursed by the government as per the directions by the Human Resource Development( HRD) Ministry. The minister of HRD issued a direction that said “ all the schools in the country that all the expenditure incurred on books, uniform and transport will be reimbursed by the Government. Also added, the girl child will be given Rs 200 per month”. Minister of HRD Satyapal Singh addressing an award ceremony by National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People and Mindtree said that “Especially challenged people just do not need courtesy and compassion, but real empowerment which would come through education. How to ensure it is a big challenge” at the Helen Keller Award 2018. The Minister addressed that it is the topmost priority of the government to make sure that the rights of challenged people are granted to them as any other citizen in the country. The government from this academic session has also issued direction that there will be minimum 5 percent admission in all educational bodies.
