Actor Anupam Kher recently released the trailer of his new movie “The Accidental Prime Minister” calling it to be one of his life’s best performances. The trailer of the film is based on the book of the same name by Sanjay Baru who served as Singh’s media advisor 2004 to 2008 and Anupam Kher is portraying the role of Dr. Manmohan Singh. It is a very powerful story of modern Indian political decade. However, due to the political aspects of the film, it has sparked up controversy amongst the politicians. Several Congress party men have demanded a separate screening of the movie before it is released so as to check its authenticity. The actor has assured the movie is 100% accurate and has rejected their demand. The movie depicts Mr. Singh as a victim of Congress’ internal politics ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and congress has reacted by dubbing the film as a “party propaganda” initiated to support one particular party. The book was out in 2014 and there was no protest then and their current resistance is offering nothing but more publicity to the movie. The essence of the movie is to show only the how Manmohan Singh was victimized by the party and what type of governance was led during his time and not to criticize or target any one. The trailer also features various other characters portraying Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and various other significant congressmen. The movie is all set to be released on February 11; Directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, the film stars Kher as Manmohan singh and Akshaye Khanna as Baru.
