On your next vacation to the Andaman and Nicobar islands, mind the new names because Ross island is now Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose dweep, Neil island is Shaheed Dweep and Havelock island from now will be Swaraj Dweep. On the occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s national flag hoisting 75th anniversary, PM visited the islands and offered tributes to Netaji statue in the marina park. Previously, PM visited this park and hoisted a national flag that was on 150 feet high mast. The event was followed by releasing of a commemorative stamp and a 75 rupee coin. During his speech PM urged the audiences to switch on the flashlights on their phones, and thousands of phones were lit up in honor of Netaji. Further PM mentioned that the nation draws inspiration from Andaman. He also visited the Kala Pani jail and laid a wreath in honor of martyrs and commended the cells as no less than temples.
