Tonight was totally Chennai’s night in the field. From their bowlers bowling excellently to their batsmen playing classic knocks, everything went in the favor of the Kings as they defeated the Capitals by 6 wickets to confirm a date with the Mumbai Indians in the final faceoff of this tournament. In today’s match, Dhoni won the toss and invited the young Delhi side to bat first. Prithvi Shaw, who has batted excellently for the Capitals throughout the tournament disappointed his side as he got out on a score of just 5 Runs off the 6 balls he faced. Dhawan, who seemed good in the beginning too got out at an early score of 18 Runs. No batsmen of Delhi could perform as per their caliber and Delhi ended their inning at the score of 147 Runs. Dwayne Bravo (4-0-19-2) stole the show in the bowling area. He got excellent support from Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh and Deepak Chahar who balled economically and took 2 wickets each. As Chennai came out to chase the target, DU Plessis and Watson gave them the start they needed. They managed to build a partnership of 81 runs before Trent Bolt managed to get Plessis out. Throughout the chase, Chennai was in a very comfortable position and easily won the match with 6 wickets in hand and 6 balls to spare. With this Chennai has entered the finals to face the Mumbai Indians. This will be the fourth time in the history of the tournament when both the teams will come face to face for the final fight for the trophy. Young Delhi side although could not make it to the finals but have won millions of heart throughout the tournament. Youngsters like Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant and the young captain Shreyas Aiyer have proved their worth and have been very promising throughout the tournament. Their performance has led many to believe that the future of Indian Cricket is going to be in very safe hands.
