HIGHLIGHTS

  • Warner remained the highest scorer, scoring 992 runs in 12 matches which he played
  • Imran Tahir, on the other hand, won the purple cap for taking the most number of wickets i.e. 26 wickets in 17 matches
  • MI became the IPL 2019 Champions by defeating CSK in the Finals

As this Indian Premier League came to its conclusion, there were many new faces and young talents who made full use of the chance given to them and showed the world the amount of talent they hold. Whether it be Rishabh Pant or the young Prithvi Shaw if we talk about the batting department or from the bowling department, Rahul Chahar who stunned everyone with his brilliant bowling skills. It was due to his excellent bowling spells throughout the tournament that Mumbai Indians became the champions for the fourth time, defeating Chennai Super Kings in the breathtaking finals by just 1 run. Where on one hand the youngsters performed excellently throughout the tournament, the senior players like Harbhajan Singh, Steve Smith, etc. were not able to keep up to the confidence their franchise showed in them. Mumbai Indians too have faced a lot of criticism throughout the tournament for not giving apt opportunities to Yuvraj Singh. This IPL has been a delight for the MSD fans as they got to see a valiant show from their super Thalla. This IPL seemed promising with the impact the youngsters left and showed chances for a positive future of the Indian cricket.
