The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) decided to ban the coaches and support staff of wrestlers who fail in the dope tests in the future. This decision had been taken this Friday and also warned the coaches and the staff that if they failed to inform the federation about any probable use of drugs which are banned by his ward in the camp, he will suspend. The coaches and the staff will be equally blamed for the use of the dope by the wrestler under them as said by the WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. He said that this decision was a result of heavy fines which they had to pay to United World Wrestling (UWW) due to failing in doping tests by Indian Players. The President also told that such decision was necessary because, in recent years, there were 3-4 cases of doping through Indian Players due to which resulted in the country’s shame globally. And not only this, but it also led to a heavy fine of Rs 32 Lakhs to UWW. Hence, the wrestlers cannot alone be held guilty for their failures but the coaches and the staff should take proper responsibility and put a check on that. They should ensure that all the wrestlers should remain free from dope and should not use any other substance which is prohibited. At last, it was also stated that all the wrestlers should be aware of the doping and the consequence of taking them.
