It was the Harmanpreet show here at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday. With the help of her fast innings of 51 Runs in just 34 Balls, Supernova defeated the Velocity by 6 wickets in nail-biting combat which went to the last ball. Supernova won the toss and opted to ball first. Velocity stumbled badly as they went on to lose 5 wickets at the score of 37. This resulted from the excellent bowling attack from the Supernova. Harmanpreet’s trump card, Lea Tahuhu, one of the fastest bowlers in the women cricket, turned out to be at her best taking 2 wickets in her 4 over quota. Sophie Divine (4-0-19-1) also bowled economically. It was for the 71 runs partnership between Amelia Kerr and Sushma Verma that lifted the Velocity up to a total of 121 runs. Coming out to chase the target, Supernova too seemed to lose their way as they lost half their wickets at the score of 64. It was their captain who came to the rescue of her team. Batting superbly, Harmanpreet scored a shellacking half-century off just 34 balls. This innings led the Supernova to the last ball win over the Velocity, making them the Champions of Women t20 challenge 2019. Harmanpreet Kaur was awarded Player of the Match for her excellent batting. Jemimah Rodrigues was awarded the Player of the tournament title for her excellent batting throughout the tournament.
