This Monday, NASA announced that their next mission to the moon by 2024, called Artemis is still in search for money. Under US President Donald Trump, the administration is eager to get their astronaut to be the first female to step on the moon. One of the Administrator, Jim Bridenstine told the media that they are in need of at least 1.6 million $ which is needed for the new ground and improving technologies like space vehicles. He said their annual budget is approximately 21.5 million $ and in 2019, they spent at least 4.5 million $ on developing Orion spacecraft, the space launch system heavy rocket, new lunar orbital mini-station which are the most important elements of this mission. The Administrator says that the name ‘Artemis’ has come from the name of Greek mythological goddess of the moon who is the twin sister of Apollo. Apart from this, many analysts and experts are concerned that since the mission is deficient of money, the date might cross the deadline since already the deadline has been shifted to 2028 from 2024 this March. Since the project is under such pressure, the real budget for the mission cannot be made sure through original sources. Hence, we still wait for more new things to come up in the next few weeks.
