The government has granted the status of trust to the initiative ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ under the Indian trust act, 1882. Bharat Ke Veer is a fundraising initiative launched by the ministry of home affairs and promoted by noted actor Akshay Kumar to raise fund and aid the families or dependent of Para-military personals that were killed in action.
This initiative aims for providing a platform for the people who want to contribute to the family of all the Bravehearts. For the same, there is an official website where the people can donate either to an individual or the Bharat Ke Veer corpus. Also, a cap of Rs 15 lakh is put on the donated money to ensure the maximum donation. In case the amount exceeds, donors would be altered. And they can choose to divert the amount to another Braveheart or the ‘Bharat Ke Veer' corpus or to withdraw the exceeding amount. The fund is managed by the committee made up of eminent persons of repute and senior government officials, the guidelines for the same is given on the official website.
Now with the status of registered trust, all the contribution made to the ‘Bharat Ke Veer' will be fully exempted from any income tax liability under section 80(g)of the Indian trust act,1882. Section 80(g) provides the exemption to charitable trust and institutions. This step of the government has brought a true homage to all the countries Bravehearts.
