AN-32 Air Craft of Indian Air Force (IAF) went missing with 13 members in it. There were a total of eight crew members and five passengers on board in the aircraft when it took off from Assam's Jorhat on Monday. P8i of Indian Navy carried out a search mission on Friday morning from Arakonam of Tamilnadu. The search continued for five days with UAV’s, Transport Aircraft and helicopters with extensive search whenever possible and, as and when weather permits. Electronic, radar, infrared and optical sensors are used to trace the area for any possible clues.
The Army have started search in forest areas from two days in order to locate the aircraft. Eastern Air Command senior officer is coordinating these operations. The IAF is making it’s all efforts to find out the aircraft. They are also in contact with the families of air warriors. The family members are provided with sufficient assistance. The Defence Minister met the kin of those onboard and explained them about search efforts on June 6th. Army, Police, Government, Paramilitary forces and local people have been a great support in the operations. Searches were also held near Arunachal Pradesh based on the recent information. However, despite all the efforts that are being made for searching the missing AN-32 Aircraft, no clues have surfaced so far.
