Delhi and parts of the National Capital Region (NCR) faced extremely heavy rain showers on Tuesday morning, which helped in bringing the temperature down a notch and throwing normal life out of gear. Some places like Sarita Vihar and Tilak Nagar experienced extremely heavy rainfall, whereas there were scattered light rains in some other areas. Twitteratis took to social media to post updates about the water logging and traffic jams in the area. Some even advised that people should leave early for work.

The morning rain showers slowed down traffic movement in various parts of the national capital due to waterlogging. As a result, commuters were forced to take shelter at bus stops.

The Delhi Traffic Police on its official Twitter handle also informed that traffic from GPO to Nigam Bodh Ghat has been heavily affected due to waterlogging near Kela Ghat and also at Khyber Pass towards Model Town.

However, even after the rain showers, about 35 per cent less rainfall than usual has been recorded in Delhi so far.

According to Skymet Weather, it is expected that Delhi-NCR will witness light to moderate rainfall till August 7.

Moreover, continuous rainfall has been predicted for the city by The India Meteorological Department for the next two days. The weather department has also said that the national capital will witness rain or thundershowers on Thursday (August 8). Skies will be generally cloudy with the possibility of rain or thunderstorm On Friday (August 9), the IMD said.
