In order to help a pregnant lady in premature labour, an auto rickshaw driver from Mumbai drove his vehicle to Virar railway station platform. This action he took was a humanitarian gesture which spreads a message of not to be material and to be who we are i.e. human, be human and be kind enough to help someone in need. Driver was Sagar Gawad of age 34, resident of Dongarpada in Virar (West).
Although the auto-rickshaw driver drove the rickshaw on the platform at Virar railway station on August 4 to help the pregnant lady. PRF didn’t arrest Gawad immediately because the lady was in extreme labour, later he was arrested and released by Court with a warning. Sagar kawad was charged under section 154 and 159 of Railway Act, 1989.
Praveen Kumar Yadav, Virar RPF said, the Husband started to panic after seeing his wife in extreme labour. So he rushed for help leaving his compartment at the Virar railway station. Gawad was with his auto parked at in space provided by western railways (wr). The Husband asked for his help, after which he brought his rickshaw to the platform.
