 The bill passed by the Parliaments against talaq-e-biddat was a day of victory for all the Muslim women in India.

Shayara Bano, 38 years old Muslim women demanded that the talaq-e-biddat pronounced by her husband to be declared as to be void. By this new legislation, all the Muslim women can stay fearless of getting unnecessary divorced by their husband. It was also said that the bill passed by both the Parliaments was a testament towards the struggle of Shayara Bano and many other Muslim women who became the victims against their Law.

Bharatiya Muslim Mahila Andolan member Noorjehan Safia Niaz also said that the passing of this bill has paved a way for many more reforms in the Muslim Personal Law and has also given equal status to all the Muslim women.
