  • Arsenal signs Luiz in an 8 million euro deal.
  • Brazilian defender likes a challenge by joining a big club.
  • Arsenal has signed the contract with David Luiz for two years.

The Chelsea star David Luiz has decided to join Arsenal this summer. The reports claim that Arsenal has submitted a firm offer for Luiz and the experienced Centre-back has refused to show up at Chelsea’s Cobham training base as the club attempt to block his exit.

Luiz only signed a two-year contract with the Blues in May and was upset with Chelsea’s handling of Maurizio Sarri, a manager he greatly enjoyed working under.

As Arsenal allowed Laurent Koscielny to join Bordeaux earlier this week, Luiz is viewed as a possible replacement.

Although Luiz appreciates the efforts of Unai Emery and Frank Lampard, he does not want to miss the opportunity to join another big club.

Luiz also insisted that he left Chelsea because his cycle at the West London club had come to a natural end.

The 32 year old spent 7 years at Stamford Bridge, before joining Arsenal in an € 8 million deal.

Luiz was a pivotal figure by Maurizio Sarri’s side, which won Chelsea the Europa League and finished 3rd in the Premier League, last season.

Arsenal is a big club- not just in England, but everybody around the world knows how big Arsenal is. By being part of this club, he likes to do some challenges. He knows the team and he came with a mentality to win. He has to run for one reason, for one goal and his goal is to win things with Arsenal.
