Greater Noida- The Surajpur police booked two men for allegedly swapping a man's ATM card on pretext of helping him and then withdrawing rupees 45,000 from his account. The victim was identified as Chandan Paswan, a resident of Gulistan Pura under the Surajpur police jurisdiction. According to the complaint, the victim has an account with a public sector bank.

The victim mentioned on his complaint that he has gone to the ATM kiosk in Devla to generate his ATM PIN, to check whether the card was functional or not, he made a transaction of rupees 1000, which was in the evening at around 4pm, at the same moment, two men came to the booth and said that the receipt had not been printed and that he should insert the card in the machine again. Despite his objecting to the same the two swapped the card with a different one, in a sleight of hand. After a few days, the victim found out that the suspects has withdrawn rupees 45,000 which is the entire amount in the account in a fraudulent transaction. After this, he approached the Surajpur police and filed a complaint, based on which a case was registered against the suspects under section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.
