It is 2020 and still when people talk about one of the greatest wars of Indian Mythology which was Mahabharat, lasted 18 days, they very conveniently say Draupadi was the reason behind Mahabharat but the question which arises here is that was she? No, she was not, a well-informed person will never consider her the reason behind that war because it was not a war for revenge but it was a war for what is right and what is wrong. It was not just about the disrespect which was faced by Draupadi but it was about the sin which was committed by all other men who witnessed that without doing anything against it, their power, their strength was of no use if they cannot raise their voices against wrong committed in front of their eyes. Draupadi was just a first stair which leads to that war but not the main reason behind that, the main reason was the sin committed by every man who was responsible to maintain balance in society but was not able to fulfill that. If she would have the reason, it would have happened right there and then when she was disrespected but it was done after 13 years of a wait because it was never about that one particular thing it was about that sin of not seeing the truth and right thing which was committed by King Drithrashtra, he was blind but his actual blindness was not seeing that his son was wrong and not accepting this very fact while being in a position like that. He was the main reason behind all the sins committed by his sons for which they paid and he also. Draupadi was a queen and treated like a servant once her husbands lost her in a bet, which showed that Kauravs have no respect for women and they will destroy the society for their whims and fancies. They just didn’t pay for the wrong which they committed against Draupadi but for that every wrong thing which they committed during their lifetime against society. It is very convenient for anyone to say that Mahabharat was purely an act of revenge which was taken by Pandavas for the wrong done to their wife and Draupadi could have stopped it and at the same time people say one should raise their voices against the wrong done to them, ironical, isn’t it? Women are taught to keep silent and adjust for the betterment of society but where one is adjusting despite being crimes are committed against her, it can never bring betterment and will always make the situation worst. In Mahabharat, Pandavas had to kill their relatives because they were wrong, they subsided with wrong people for which they were killed. The reason for their help to Kauravs was never considered because they did that when they should not have done that, the fact that they never wanted to do that had zero validity. After all, actions matter thoughts don’t.
