Good Food But Not A Good Life

Just like with great power comes great responsibility, with good food, come dire disorders. Bulimia Nervosa and Anorexia Nervosa are the most common eating disorders. When the prior one is marked by repeated episodes of eating accompanied by a compensatory move of throwing up the whole thing, the later is marked by strict denial of food.

These disorders are very common among late adolescents and early adults. Eating disorders are common in people with low self-esteem, perfectionism which in turn leads to self-doubt, impulsive behavior, and troubled relationships.

To get praised, more appealing, and attractive, people take up fasting and starvation as their solution. This starvation when taken to some remarkable heights and causes physical as well as mental distress, the onset of an eating disorder, or more specifically onset of anorexia are marked. Marry Kate Olsen, one of the famous Olsen twins, was diagnosed with anorexia.

Bulimia on the other hand takes another form. The one experiencing bulimia engages in repeated episodes of eating food accompanied by a compensatory move of throwing the food up. This causes digestive mishap along with several physiological issues. Princess Diana struggled with bulimia in the late months of 1981.

Recent studies have spilled names of some more disorders of which 'Binge Eating Disorder' is the most prominent. It is similar to bulimia without that throwing up the part which makes its characteristic to be only bing eating without any compensatory move. This in turn brings weight issues and health hazards to the one suffering.

These eating disorders have been characterized by some aftermath of diseases and disorders. The bigger set of these are:-

- Serious health problems

- Depression and anxiety

- Suicidal thoughts or behavior

- Problems with growth and development

- Social and relationship problems

- Substance use disorders

 - Work and school issues

 - Death

Among the causes, genetic causes, stress, and peer pressure. It is high time that people get the difference between properly balanced dieting and this disorder. While dieting and proper food intake make one healthy, these disorders with great stress and anxiety.

The only outcome, though not cent percent certified, but trusted by the therapists, is to make your kid more confident about themselves. Reinforcing them for what they are, physically. Stop having a rigorous diet in front of your kid which would make him/her learn it from you and that learning would, later on, take great levels in a negative way which is never desired.

It is high time that we start noticing. Better to mend now than to regret later.
