World nature conservation day is celebrated on 28 July every year to increase awareness about the importance of nature and its resources and how a person can live sustainably.
On this day people are encouraged to save and protect Earth's natural resources which are fast depleting due to overexploitation and misuse.
The ministry of culture via their official Twitter handle posted a video and captioned with "Nature worship is indeed an integral part of Indian culture. On the occasion of World Nature Conservation Day let's all take place to protect conserve and sustainably manage our natural resources and make this world a better place and healthy a place for future generations.
Our earth has a limited amount of things like water, tree, oil, etc. And World nature conservation day is celebrated across the world to increase awareness about the best practices one can follow to protect the natural resources.
In India the increased organization has led to issues like lack of wildlife habitat loss of forest cover and population and the government is recognizing this as a problem and taking the initiative to reverse it.
People can start practicing and contributing to the environment through small habits and living sustainably.

  • Avoid wastage of food water and items of regular use

  • Save energy by switching off lights, fans, and air conditioners when not in use.

  • Avoid wasting water and close the tap properly after brushing or washing your hands.

  • Practice rainwater harvesting during the monsoon.

  • These small steps taken by a large number of population can contribute to the sustainability of the environment and conserve it for future generations.

    Other ways to contribute to the conservation of the environment are:

  • Plant a tree on your birthday

  • Have a no-car day once in a week

  • Quit smoking as it does not only harm your body but the environment as well.

  • Discard plastic bags and make your own cloth or paper bags.

  • Decrease the use of paper
