Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced work for home plan till July 2021

The rapid widespread of this COVID-19 pandemic made Mr. Sundar Pichai, an Indian-American business executive, the chief executive officer of Alphabet Inc., and its subsidiary Google LLC think of new working plans for his employees. Allegedly, Google has come up with a plan that till July 2021, it will allow approximately 200,000 full-time and contract employees to work remotely. The new work from the home plan has been announced by Sundar Pichai. Along with the world know web portal Google, Facebook and Twitter have also started working with the pattern of work from home but Google is the only company so far that is planning an extension.

Recently, Google CEO Sundar Pichai has spoken with some of the top executives and has requested them to think of the same.
“To give employees the ability to plan, we are extending our global voluntary work from home option through June 30, 2021, for roles that don’t need to be in the office,” the email sent by Mr. Pichai stated.

Talking about Facebook’s work from home plans, Zuckerberg announced, “We’re going to allow people to request to be a permanent remote worker at some point. And they don’t have to make that decision right now, obviously. The people can remotely work through the end of 2020 if they want. And if COVID is still prevalent, it’s possible that extends beyond that. But on a long-term basis, we’re going to let people request to work permanently remotely. We’re going to focus on experienced employees rather than new college grads, who I think need to be in the office more, for training.”

In May, Twitter (an American microblogging and social networking service on which users post and interact with messages known as "tweets") had also asked its employees to work from home and said that offices won’t open before September. when it opens, it wouldn’t rush into things or go back to how things were before the lockdown. Getting back to work will be with a lot of precautions & attention.

In a statement Jennifer Christie, Vice President, People, Twitter said, “We were uniquely positioned to respond quickly and allow folks to work from home given our emphasis on decentralization and supporting a distributed workforce capable of working from anywhere. The past few months have proven we can make that work. So if our employees are in a role and situation that enables them to work from home and they want to continue to do so forever, we will make that happen. If not, our offices will be their warm and welcoming selves, with some additional precautions, when we feel it’s safe to return”.
