The story of this movie is based on Arya's( Alia Bhatt) avenge for her mother's murder which was done under mysterious circumstances and her soul motive is to bring the culprits to justice. So, in order to honour her mother's last wish, Arya starts a journey to Kailash and the story of Sadak 2 unfolds.

This movie shows that Arya's entire family is under the spell of a "dhongi Sadhu" Gyan Prakash(Makarand Deshpande) and Arya who is of 20 years believes that her beloved mother died going to an elaborate plan which was made by Gyan Prakash and Nandini(Priyanka Bose) which was her stepmother. To such a situation Arya launches an online campaign called India fights fake gurus in order to reveal the truth behind this supposed messenger of Gods and break the myth and mystery surrounding them. During her mission, she falls in love with a former troll, a very good looking musician with issues of his own, Vishal ( Aditya Roy Kapoor) and they together embark on a pilgrimage in order to fulfil Arya mother's last wish of visiting Kailash on her 21st birthday.

Arya persuades Ravi ( Sanjay Dutt) to take him to Kailash because the owner of Pooja travels and the tour was now dead and her taxi driver husband Ravi had only one purpose in his life that was to reunite with her in heaven. Lastly, Ravi said yes and unique friendship blossoms between Arya and Ravi. Due to which Ravi finds a new purpose in life through this young girl driven to achieve what she set out to do.

Sadak 2 starts off with a very sad and melancholic setting. Where we see Ravi tying a rope around his neck and talking to his dead wife Puja. After that we see Arya storming in their house demanding for 3-month advance booking to be honoured. This is how a journey of random twist and turns begins with a screenplay that goes on various routes and subsequently hits a dead end.

The writers did a good job and the background score which is given by Sandeep Chowta deserves a special mention as it was melodramatic and borderline annoying. Alia Bhatt, who’s famous for her good performances on the screen, falls flats this time and gives an average movie performance in this movie. Talking about Aditya Roy Kapoor, he does not have much role besides looking hot and being aloof. Sanjay Dutt excels all his emotional scenes quite well and even at this age, he knows how to bring off an action sequence. Shifting focus to smaller roles, Jishu Sengupta acting as Alia's father is very impactful and he totally owns the few frames in this action drama. On the other hand, Deshpande and Priyanka Bose delivered some unbelievingly overblown acting which had a mixture of laughter and cries.

Overall this film was not up to the mark and the public who wants to watch this movie only for sentimental reasons should know that this movie leads nowhere. So it's better not to waste time and money.
