Oprah Winfrey is one of the most inspired people around the world. Her success story had inspired millions of people. She rose from extreme poverty. She was born in rural Mississippi in 1954 under very poorer conditions. When Oprah was a child she had to wear dresses made out of potato sacks and she was also molested by her uncle, cousin, and a family friend and she gave birth to a premature baby when she was 14 years old. Being a poor, black girl from America didn't make herself to withdraw from showing courage, strength, and personality. Her style and emotional delivery won the attention of many people and a position with a radio station in Nashville. Oprah Winfrey was very famous for about 25 years. Her style and presentation were very unique and she created an environment where the guests felt to share their personal stories. She popularized the "tabloid talk shows".

She did not believe and limited her dreams because she was a poor black girl. She did not believe in those labels. She chose a different path and faced tears and challenges confidently. Her grandmother was a great inspiration to her, she saw the potential in her and her passion for public speaking and promoted her. Her grandmother created a positive sense of self - worth. According to Oprah, a person can change his future by changing his attitude. It is good to learn from the success stories of those people who come from a similar background like us and learning how they overcome their fears. It is inspiring to learn other stories.

She gave importance to schooling and studies. She also has a keen knowledge of the Bible. Her fellow students teased her because of her skin color and poverty. She did public speaking and was elected as a school president. She also won a public speaking contest and won a scholarship. Even though she faced many hurdles in the initial stages of her career she did many broadcasting jobs and also hosted a money show named "People Are Talking". She also got a chance to host A.M. Chicago which is the highest-rated talk show. It was a huge hit which was later renamed as Oprah Winfrey Show. She gained worldwide fame and acquired the name "Queen of all Media". Till now she is the only black person who is a multi-billionaire and greatest philanthropist with a net worth of 2.9 billion dollars. She has also been awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama.
