The disturbing gun violence and killing since the death of George Floyd's death had disturbed the people. On July 25th a 28-year-old Air Force Veteran named Garrett Foster attended a peaceful protest against the injustice of the police. Garrett was with his fiancee Whitney Mitchell a black amputee who Garrett was also a full-time caretaker. They were standing among a group of people with a sign saying " Honk for Justice". A local journalist interviewed him and he said that his roommate got arrested and that's when he started carrying. Later Foster was shot dead, and video shows protesters marching down the streets and chanting. People shouted and said backup, and later on, several gunshots were heard, and people start screaming. Foster had approached his car and threatened him, said Daniel Perry an active U.S.Army member on duty. Perry said that he shot Foster in self -defense and he is not facing any charges.

Americans bought guns in record number in the year 2020 for various protests like Black Lives Matter. These guns are not for show but there were around 70 gun incidents and the death toll was around 22. Many were threatened and the shooting also created many non-fatal injuries. The main threat was for the protesters of Black Lives Matter. Fosters shooting was just one incident and there were many other incidents. Many people got injured in Louisville, Kentucky, Aurora. In Virginia, a man got out of his car and fired to the ground during an argument with the protesters of Black Lives Matter. In Oregon, a truck driver pointed his gun at the protestors. There are also some left-aligned who bought guns, used them, and created protests. Left-leaning protestors have created at least 13 incidents. Many incidents fall under the category of political violence committed to achieving several political goals.

Shootings happen when the protest is going on and it's not sure whether its part of the protests. Shootings were committed by civilians against protestors. Perpetrator's intentions were not clear sometimes and it had created violence. Some shots were labeled as "random shots" were the motivation of the target is not clear. Sometimes even police reports are not liable. There were around 14 shootings that happened in the summer and caused several injuries. A protestor opened fired and injured the police officers. During the 1960s people did not use guns but hit each other with bats. Guns are not the only way but several car-ramming attacks were also held.
