Louis Bromfield said that the bread is the king on the table and all else is nearly the court that surrounds the king. We do believe that bread is an integral part of an everyday diet and it is the widely consumed food in the world. Although it is delicious but too much consumption of bread also cause serious health issues but in choosing the right kind of bread from a variety of options can make eating bread a healthy experience.

 

To provide such healthy bread in the Indian market, Suchali Jain who is from a finance background opened doors for her entrepreneurial journey and founded Suchali's artisan's bakehouse in 2018 in New Delhi with a capital of rupees 2000000. This idea which Suchali thought came when she returned from a trip to Europe. The experience she had in Europe with authentic flavours of bread in French tradition and the Baker's art during her travel infused passion in her and motivated her to create such tradition and artisanship at the bakehouse. Her idea is to bring the best bread loaves and processes from abroad to India and the bakehouse has been profitable every month.

 

According to some reports it has been observed that Indian bakery market touches the value of dollar 7.2 to billion in 2018 and is expected to reach dollar 12 billion by 2024 also with a CAGR of 9.3 % during 2019 to 2024.

India is an average quality white bread eating nation and is very price sensitive towards baked goods but with an increase in their disposable income people are now shifting the preferences from average consumables to premium products.

 

This bakehouse is a speciality bakery which produces naturally-leavened sourdough loaves of bread, New York-style bagels, a range of croissants and tea cakes that are easy on the gut as sourdough is the base bread which is known for health benefits.

She started having the business in a small set up which gradually grown into a company which now has a 6,000 square feet manufacturing facility and employs 30 people. Due to pandemic, she is facing a lot of challenges as her bakehouse never tried online platforms but now she has even opened the option of delivering it online.
