As in India coronavirus cases are keep rising every single day. According to the health ministry, this case fatality rate (CFR) is one of the lowest in the world, and efforts are on to further reduce it to less than 1 percent. Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said India has managed the coronavirus situation well and that the lockdown has helped prevent nearly 29 lakh cases. India currently has over 48 lakh cases with nearly 80,000 fatalities.

While India is has been consistently recording the highest number of daily cases in the world, more than 37 lakh people have recovered after getting infected in the country. At present, India’s total number of infections is only behind the United States, which still accounts for the highest number of cases and deaths.

The Union Health Ministry on Tuesday said that India has given test license for the Covid-19 vaccine to seven manufacturers. The health ministry stated the same in a written reply in Rajya Sabha.

Bharat Biotech, Serum Institute, Zydus Cadila, Panacea Biotec, Indian Immunologicals, Mynvax, and Biological E are among the domestic pharma firms working on the coronavirus vaccines in India. Vaccines normally require years of testing and additional time to produce at scale, but scientists are hoping to develop a vaccine within months.
