  • Health issues with Women

Life goes through many phases and it is a known fact to all of us. Not just physically, we clear out phases mentally, and emotionally also. And just like video games, every level brings up its own challenges. From easiest being the tender age and the strenuous being the older one.

And if you are a woman living in a country like India then you don't face obstacles in life during the older phase only, it becomes a routine. Yet being an elder woman living here is an Uphill struggle.

Elderly woman if without support, and if is living without financial aid has to bear all the trauma, stress, anxiety, and malnutrition. There is a void that doesn't let you have peace.

Life slows down when in old age. But one thing which has its pace is the troubles on a day to day basis. And older women face additional challenges as compared to older men. If one is a widow and has no personal assets owned by her, then for all the support in her life she has to depend on her son or her daughter. We are less likely to see financial stability in older women. If also one was even a working woman, we have families where women give all their earnings to their husbands or fathers and even to their sons sometimes. This pattern creates hurdles in the later life of women.

Society is changing so also the hollowness inside everybody is also increasing. There is less concern for each other now. So, with such a period of change, we don't see today's children being ready to hold the responsibility for their parents. Hence, we see poverty-ridden women, having no one except her son, falling into the abyss. Either she comes to the streets or if the only fortune has its eye on her then she will find an old age home for her.

The next problem waiting for old age is deteriorating health. Health issue comes up on a day-to-day basis. Here also women are one step ahead in ruining their health conditions in various ways.

The rituals followed in early life has its fruit now. But not all the fruit is sweet to have. There are numerous customs which are followed in our country which result in a breakdown of women's well-being. Women being neglected of one's own physical condition gets herself in trouble later in life. Also, it is at a later age only when women have their Menopause. This is again a taboo in our country. People think it is irrelevant to consider Menopause as any sort of health issue. But only women know what she has to go through. Menopause not just affects the body from within but also affects mental health.

One tends to have various mood swings. So if one is already going from something which makes her vulnerable and to add Cherry on the top the closed ones are not treating her in the appropriate way then she ought to have a measurable life.

One surely faces the same in our country. In contrast, everybody needs to be considerate of the needs of elderly people. They have done their bit for the society, all they required now is little patience, time, and concern from all of us. It breaks our hearts seeing videos online, where we see those cruel children throwing their old and helpless parents out of their home or where a bunch of young people torture the older people. This is not the place one desires. And one lives for a desirable place only.
