Vikas Dubay, the person who committed 62 criminal cases, including 5 cases of murder and eight cases of attempted murder could not have thrived for 30 years without the help of the rich and powerful. The encounter that killed Uttar Pradesh gangster Vikas Dubey has not been taken as the slightest shock. It is like a death foretold. He is also responsible for the assault of eight policemen. The same lawlessness and absence make it possible for the police to avenge the killing of their men and the men in Khaki In Tamilnadu push rods and sticks and also beat a father and a son. This is not justice that one can outrage someone and see others as morally permissible. Other victims simply opened their shops a minute beyond the lockdown curfew.

One cannot morally calibrate fake encounters. People are asked to believe that a person who dramatically surrendered after a five-day chase from Uttar Pradesh through states of Haryana and Rajasthan had turned on police and attempted an escape. The encounter took place when Dubey was taken from Madhya Pradesh to U.P. The police have also need to explain why Dubey's car was switched at the last moment. The video footage shows Dubey in two different cars at two different points of the journey. Then the question arises why the dreaded criminal was not arrested? He was shot and he was not shot in the leg which led to a question that if he was recaptured alive, then he can be interrogated. There was a letter making rounds on social media which is written by one of the eight policemen murdered by Dubey. The letter was officially denied. Officer Vinay Tiwari was in cahoots with Dubey. Tiwari and other colleagues were suspended. There was also a public interest petition appealed in Supreme Court two days ago and this demanded a judiciary intervention predicting how Dubey would die. Instead of delivering justice for eight policemen The actions of the U.P police had degraded their reputation.

Some days before his death, a video was shared on youtube which showed Dubey where he claimed the backings of two Bharatiya Janata Party legislators. His mother also claimed that his son is now linked to Samajwadi Party. The country has a right to know which people influence Dubey, whether the police, government, or opposition. The families of the eight policemen who had lost their lives must have believed that justice was served.
