Earth, our home planet withholds various secrets beneath its surface, far down below where one's feet lie are the four layers of the Earth namely outer crust, Mantle, outer and inner core. While the outer core is liquid-based the inner one is solidified. The crust is the uppermost layer on which one stands, the oceanic crusts are quite thin and continental crusts are thicker. The mantle is the layer that is subject to researches it can also be referred to as the river rock as it flows and the upper mantle combines to make the lithosphere, the mantle is the largest layer consuming a huge part of the earth's volume. The outer core travels about 3,400 km below and has various metals like nickel, iron, and others. During the process of cooling down of Earth which dates back to billions of years, many elements that are dense settled into the bottom and the lighter versions rose to the top. Hence one can observe density to increase while traversing downwards. This part of the core spins faster than the Earth itself. This spin creates the magnetic field. Where do the volcano's lie? Most of them are residing at the boundaries of the tectonic plates while others can lie on them; such are called intra-plate volcanoes, these can sometimes create island chains. The inner core of the earth has almost the same temperature as that of the sun's surface; it has various elements like tungsten, gold, platinum, and silver. It forms the central layer of the earth and is similar to its outer counterpart. The pressure in this layer is about 360 Giga Pascal. Minerals found on the crust- The crust of the Earth is made up of rocks and these rocks are nothing more than minerals they are composed of, this crust made up the elements such as oxygen (46 percent), silicon (27 percent), aluminum, iron, calcium, and others. Many minerals from soft to hard such as talc, Fluorite, topaz, Corundum, diamonds, gold, etc are found by digging deep into the crust. One can observe that the earth is not a very pure element it is a combination of various compositions that form its layers, above all the crust is the place where the fossils which have formed the repositories of human history are found in the sedimentary rocks, there are different types of fossils such as trace or carbon or body fossils of the long lost organisms that ruled Earth before it became our abode. If one desires to invade deeper into the Earth's mysteries- Geological studies can throw light on a few of them.
