Indian Reliance Jio which recently concluded a 15.2 billion dollars fundraise run entered its new business, video conferencing, on Thursday evening the firm backed by Mukesh Ambani Indias richest man formally launch Jio Meet its video conference service application which would become a competition for the video conferencing apps like zoom, Microsoft teams, google meet and more. The app works on android, IOS, Mac, Windows, SIP/H.323 systems. This application also works on popular web browsers including chrome and firefox on the desktop
Jiomeet offers an unlimited number of free calls, in the wide definition, it supports up to 720P resolution to users and supports as many as 100 participants at a call. It includes easy signup with either mobile number or email ID, meeting HD audio, and video quality. It comes with an option to schedule meeting in advance and share the details with invitees.
Interestingly it appears to not impose a short time limit on call duration, Jio platforms say the free calls can be uninterrupted for up to 24 hours long. The service currently has no paid plans and its unclear if Jio platforms which have a reputation of giving away the services for free for years. Plans to change that Jio platforms which began beta testing Jio Meet in made this year, said the video conferencing service offers enterprise great host controls, this includes password protection on each call, multi-device login support up to five (5) devices and the ability to share screen and collaborate. Other features include the ability to switch seeming lay from one device to another device and safe driving mode when the participant is incommoded also it enables a waiting room, the participants have to ask for permission to enter into the hall.

>> IOS- OS version 9 and above, min. 1GB RAM
>> Android – OS version 5.0 and above, min. 2 GB RAM
>> Mac – OS version 10.13 and above, Min. 2 GB RAM
>> Windows 10 with Microsoft. NET framework 4.5.2(X86 and X64) and above, min 4 GB RAM
Reliance JioMeet Video calling is yet another platform from India that will be a good alternative to other video conferencing apps like zoom, MS teams ect..Jio meet claims all the meetings are encrypted, The launch of Jio meet today comes has tones of millions of people in India are working from home and using the video conferencing services and work and to stay connected with people.
