Daggubati Venkateswara Rao retired from active politics in 2014. On the other hand, his wife Daggubati Purandeswari has been continuing as a crucial leader in AP BJP. Now, this couple is going to pave way for the political entry of their son, Hitesh Chenchuram. If the buzz is to be believed, Hitesh Chenchuram would be contesting from Parchur Assembly Constituency, which is known to be the bastion of his father in 2019 elections. Daggubati couple is now contemplating on the party through which their son should enter politics. Obtaining BJP ticket for Parchur Assembly Constituency won't be difficult for Daggubati Family.

They, however, don't want to take such a risk as mood of public is against the saffron party. TDP Leadership may deny ticket for Hitesh if Purandeswari quits BJP as winning chances would be good. But, possibility of reaching the next level after becoming MLA looks bleak in TDP. For now, YSR Congress appears to be the best bet for Hitesh Chenchuram. He could grow as a leader if he supports Jagan's leadership. With the death of Hari Krishna, the only resistance to Chandrababu from the NTR family came to an end. The rivals of Chandrababu, both YS Rajasekhara Reddy and his son YS Jagan Mohan Reddy always found an asset in the Daggubati family as they confronted their arch-rival head-on. The induction of NTR's grandson into YSR Congress may only have symbolic value for YS Jagan as Chandrababu has passed the test for NTR's political legacy on multiple occasions in the past.
