The race to General elections in 2019 has already begun. The BJP started off with a bang with PM Modi’s roaring speech in the party’s national convention in New Delhi, where he implored the crowd to decide what kind of a ‘Pradhan Sevak’ it wants for the next five years, in an answer to the SP and BSP tie-up in UP and keeping congress out of the zone- interesting!
Rahul Gandhi, never known to bow down jumped in the ring with a string of allegations and promises for the next five years. Gandhi, started off with his never ending probe on the Rafale deal and the BJP govt’s intrusion in crucial institutions of our country- CBI, SC and ED and also the BSP-SP alliance, with 38 seat shares.
Gandhi said that no one from the SP/BSP reached out to congress before going ahead with the alliance. Now, the congress is ready to take on all the 80 seats on its own, with Gandhi about start his campaigning vigorously. Gandhi attacked the Centre for transferring CBI director Alok Verma following SC order of him to be re-instated. Attacking Modi again on Rafale, Gandhi repeatedly asked him why the HAL did not get the Rafale order and that corruption and economic downturn was horrible in the Modi govt, so much so that common shop-keepers and vendors say ‘remove Modi’!
