The central body of Election Commission declared five-phase parliamentary elections in Jammu and Kashmir which possess a crucial challenge: conducting undisturbed elections terrorist-hit sites of Kashmir and also assuring the lives of the civilians on the day of voting of 79 booths that comes within the jurisdiction of Pakistan occupied Kashmir. The Elections in the six electorates in the state are planned between 11th April and 6th May across 11,313 polling stations in 22 places. 77.7 lakhs people are registered in the electoral list.

The question before us is not only to organize free and fair elections but also significantly reliable too. The challenges comprise of terrorism, bombarding (from Pakistan) and climate conditions in some regions. But we are well braced for that to take on all of those said by Shailendra Kumar, Chief Election Official of Jammu and Kashmir. According to the local intelligence officials, reports indicate the existence of large number of foreign terrorists’ groups. The astonishing poll in Anantnag means the same number of soldiers will be thrice as effective.

As far as Election Management is concerned, Anantnag is probably the most challenging section of this election. The Lok Sabha of Anantnag has endured unfilled for the last three years now. The elections in this seat could not be conducted due to the reason that election officers didn’t find the security condition to be promising. Elections are set to be conducted in four zones of south Kashmir- Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian which comes within the Anantnag Lok Sabha seat. The voting in Anantnag is set to be held on 23rd April and on April 29 in Kulgam. Also, voting in shopian and Pulwama will be conducted on 6th May.
