On the second day of Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Wayanad, he continued his attack on Prime Minister Modi. He said that Modi's Lok Sabha Election campaign was filled with hatred, poison, and lies, but the Congress stood for truth, love and affection. While addressing the party workers at the Kalpetta town in his Lok Sabha Constituency after taking out a massive road show he said that his party will continue to fight Modi and his lies and hatred with love. Gandhi also said that his party would emerge as a strong opposition and will defend the poor while he was in Malappuram District. Rahul Gandhi has also made a statement that “Modi may have money, he may have the media by his side, he may have rich friends by his side, but the Congress will continue to fight against the intolerance created by BJP”.

The Congress president is on a three- day visit to the constituency. Gandhi had elected the Lok Sabha Election from Wayanad in addition to his family buttress Amethi but lost to Union Minister Smriti Irani in that Uttar Pradesh Constituency. He won from a Wayanad with a margin of about 4.31 lakh votes. After the poor show of Congress party in the second consecutive general election, Gandhi has offered to resign from the post of party president, but his resignation was rejected by the party’s highest decision-making body.
