The Congress Working Committee meeting is going to happen after several top leaders such as Karan Singh and Shashi Tharoor showed concern over lack of clarity on the leadership issue.

The CWC will meet on August 10 among a leadership crisis and for finding Rahul Gandhi's successor will top the agenda when the party's top brass meets at the AICC headquarters in New Delhi.

A series of desertions by leaders from Karnataka and Maharashtra has been seen by the party with several leaders citing confusion in the rank and file of the party after Gandhi's resignation as a reason to quit.

K C Venugopal, Congress general secretary organization tweeted "That it has been decided to hold the next CWC meeting on Saturday, 10th of August, 11 AM at AICC,".

This meeting to be held on 10 August would be the first since Rahul Gandhi had announced his decision of quitting as party chief on May 25. Top leaders of Congress have been debating over who could succeed Gandhi and already several rounds of such meetings have taken place, but the decision on his successor is yet to come.
